First wave of artists announced for Junction 2 2020

Wed 6th Nov

Junction 2 Main Stage by Night

With the dates and the location already locked down, we’re excited to announce the first wave of updates outlining how 2020’s Junction 2 is shaping up.

We’re privileged to have an incredible range of environments in Boston Manor Park and every set is programmed to match the right sounds with the right stages. Across the beautiful green spaces and stark industrial fragments, we’ve handpicked our selectors so that they can fully flex their creative range.

There’s perhaps no contemporary DJ who synthesises this sense of precision with an ability to find wildly original dancefloor choices than our weekend resident, Avalon Emerson. As a DJ and producer Avalon has enjoyed a meteoric rise to the top tier of names in the electronic underground. Avalon will spearhead multiple sets in addition to helping curate other respected acts and set the tone for two days of music exploring the spectrum of versatile, dynamic house and techno.

With our resident at the helm, we want to share the first in a series of announcements which will reveal the key artists playing throughout the weekend. Our Friday line-up represents Junction 2’s commitment to diverse electronic sounds, and at the heart of this is the genre-busting music of Jon Hopkins. This will be Jon’s only full live performance in London for 2020 and he’s going to be marrying his immersive, widescreen music with his stunning visual show.

On Friday we’ve also got an exclusive London festival appearance from a DJ with a global reputation, Four Tet. Known for mesmerising sets that shimmer in the spaces between garage, tuff house and the outer reaches of experimental techno, we’re excited to hear what he’s got for Boston Manor Park. We’ve also got space on Friday to welcome selectors who can commandeer the dark with dank, heavy sonics. An extended, exclusive set from Hessle Audio , a trio who’ve been setting the pace in underground music for over a decade, is going to be perfect for a night of outer limits tech-psychedelia. Heading up the rowdy house crew, Honey Dijon is one of the most exciting DJs in the world right now. As the current embodiment of Chicago’s raw energy, she’ll be moving the crowd with house, disco and a fiery attitude.

When Saturday comes it’ll be with another mix of thunderous sets from techno’s established legends and rising stars. We welcome back Junction 2 figurehead, Adam Beyer, the techno don whose performances have been among the most memorable of the past five years. This will be an extra special set for fans as Junction 2 is Adam’s only London festival appearance in 2020. Who will he share the vaunted Saturday night slot with? Watch this space.

Elsewhere on Saturday we welcome back a maestro at soundtracking the darkest part of the night, Berghain’s Ben Klock. As someone who thrives on big systems and longer set times, Ben is a perfect choice for Junction 2; his set will be a masterclass from someone adept at manipulating tempo and rhythm. Joining Adam and Ben on Saturday will be one of the most exciting names in modern techno, Amelie Lens. Amelie’s high-pressure sets have sold out warehouses around the world and given her a reputation as a selector who can produce unrelenting waves of energy. We’re also thrilled to welcome back Dax J, the London-born artist who excels at driving the dancefloor with fast, raw club music, and whose sets at clubs like Gashouder and Berghain are proof of his mastery of a dark rave sound. He loves the London crowds and Junction 2 will be his only festival set here for the year.

The journey to Junction 2 has just begun and we’ve got a lot more to share with you in the coming months.
